Management Tree
A Management Structure is often referred to as a tree. This is an accurate description for the following reasons:
- It is made almost entirely of wood.
- Parts of it can be dead for years before they drop off.
- If a branch falls off, most of the parasites move back to the main structure.
- It takes years to react to any environmental change.
- A large one can transpire hundreds of gallons of liquid in a day.
- It sometimes carries a great many nuts.
- If not pruned regularly it will not bear much fruit.
- Small pieces, which are chopped off often, grow again in a few years.
- It can be fired, but usually needs lots of paper to get it going.
- It may provide shelter for those underneath, but also blocks out most of the light.
- From the top one can see for miles in all directions, except vertically downward.
- Anything heavy dropped from the top reaches the bottom quickly; the intervening layers merely delay it slightly.
- Parts of it can be used to make boards (of varying thickness) but unless properly seasoned the quality will be poor.
- It bends easily in light winds but in storms it is rarely flexible enough to avoid damage.
- It sometimes gets the chop, but usually only after it has been dead or rotten for years.
- A man falling from the upper levels can often grab a lower branch to break his fall, but a man falling from lower levels goes straight to the ground.
- Sometimes one can move from tree to tree without touching the ground. One can travel thus for considerable distances eventually reaching a point at which one has absolutely no knowledge of the ground below.
- Monkeys can get to the top with remarkable speed.
Yours- thoughts that appeal to me , strikes a chord somewhere. Mine- as my mood takes me, sometimes professional, sometimes personal , sometimes philosophical Ours- there is no ownership to these thoughts you are free to make it yours

Why it is so hard to let go.
The cheerful girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them: a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box.
"Oh please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please?" Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face. “300/- rupees. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra responsibilities for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get more money from Grandma."
As soon as girl got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 70 rupees. After dinner, she did more than her share of responsibilities.
On her birthday, Grandma did give her 100 rupees. And at last she had enough money to buy the necklace.
Girl loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere – functions, nursery school, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green.
Girl had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. One night when he finished the story, he asked her, "Do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy. You know that I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh, Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess - the white horse from my collection. The one with the pink tail. Remember, Daddy? The one you gave me. She's my favorite." "That's okay, Honey. Daddy loves you. Good night." And he brushed her cheek with a kiss.
About a week later, after the story time, her daddy asked again, "Do you love me?" "Daddy, you know I love you." "Then give me your pearls." "Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll. The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is so beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper." "That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you" And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss.
A few nights later when her daddy came in, girl was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed. As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek. "What is it, dear? What's the matter?" she didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little shiver, she finally said, "Here, Daddy. It's for you."
With tears gathering in his own eyes, Girl’s kind daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime-store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to her. He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her genuine treasure.
So it is with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasure. Isn't God good?
Are you holding onto things which God wants you to let go of?
Are you holding on to harmful relationships, habits and activities which you have become so attached to that it seems impossible to let go?
Always remember…
When God takes away something he’s sure to replace it with something better

WHEN
When will the journey end?
Just when I think I see the destination
The light at the end of a the tunnel
Its darkness all around again
Clueless when dawn will break.
Like a driftwood, the waves of life
Take me to the shore
Only to be tossed back once more
Into lifes chaos and turmoil
caught in a wirlpool all over again.
An autumn leaf on the ground
Trampled by life's leaden steps
A swift wind of hope picks me up
Even before I have soared high above
Dropped in a corner for other's to trample on.
Will a day come , when I can
Soar up beyond the clouds
Beyond the blue of of the sky
Where there is no stopping me
Endlessly i just keep going on
Adrift in this cosmos
Everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Ruthless
You meant the world to me , thought it was the same with you
The times we spent talking endlessly, sharing thoughts and views
The heated arguments, the affectionate teasing, mostly disputing, sometimes agreeing
Ours was a friendship I was proud of,unique or so I thought
The love, the concern, the fun , the respect - a mirage I was chasing?
My faith in the strength of our friendship - a wishful dream?
That fateful sunday , you slaughtered a friendship
It lay bleeding at your feet but you did not see
How could you? So full of yourself
You did not hear the anguished cry nor feel the pain
To you it was an experiment ,to me the death of friendship
Your words , so casual, so callous, so factual , so cold
I died a hundred deaths to know what our friendship meant to you
An opportunity not to be passed by,a need to be indulged
A used and discared body, so where is the harm.
It did not strike you that the body housed a heart and soul
Will you ever know the pain, the hurt, the humilation, you wrought?
Will you ever know how it hurts to know that a friendship treasured
Was to you just an experiment , just a ruthless experiment

Forgive me
I know i hurt you my love
I knew I lost you as I hurt you
There was nothing I could do
But watch myself hurt you
Strange as it may sound.
What came over me, I do not know
I used to be strong , i did not know fear
Untill those unfortunate years I spent
With only fear in my heart, scared of my own shadow
A mere puppet in his hands.
I turned to him in my hour of need
As life shattered all around me
I needed someone by my side
Thought my soul mate I had found
Only to discover it was a nightmare.
He spun a spiders web around me
I did not have the courage to escape
The pendulum of life swung between
Smothering love and sheer terror
I lived on razor's edge
Did he love me or did he not
I don't think I will find out
He would smother me with love one day
Only to inflict unending physical & mental torture next
A victim of an unbalanced mind.
I paid my price and more , my love
For all the pain i put you through
Cursed me I know you have , can't blame you
You did not know what hell I went through
Pray forgive me is all I can say.
I could take it no longer , one day
Despite the knife at my throat and my twisted arm
Despite his raving and ranting ,
Despite threats to maim me for ever
My body quivering in fear ,I crouched in a corner
And I screamed at him to leave .
And leave he did.
Only to return in a while, seeking forgiveness,
Promising this was the last time ,He would hurt me.
I had forgiven him a hundred times
Only to see the madness return and it would be back to torture time.
I had reached a point where I could take no more
I steeled my heart and asked him to leave
I was no longer scared, there was only a numb finality
The Gods decieded to have mercy on me
He left for good.
If one day you know,
what I went through
Maybe then you would find in your heart
A way to forgive me ,
for what I did.

a friend
No man is an island , a woman no exception
Man or woman , we all need a friend
Life and its ups and downs
I need to share it with someone
Who do I share it with ,if not with you ,my friend
You and I are content to have someone to talk to
But other's need a name for the friendship
Is a friend not good enough ?
Why must they insist on a name for friendship?
May be they have never been a friend to another
Must you and I break our hearts
Over what goes on in another's mind?
Let's just go on, to each his own
Your friendship to me is more than
a few thoughtless words from them.

The spoken word
The spoken word like a spent arrow
Once it leaves cannot be taken back
It leaves its mark, no matter what
Yet we speak without a thought
Pass judgements not knowing the truth
Do we stop to think we may have been too hasty?
Do we stop to ask have we misjudged?
Do we ever question have we hurt?
We are so fast to decide , the right , the wrong
So fast to judge, so fast to label another
Can we not pause?
Reign in our thoughts, our judgements, our careless words?
Just long enough to question
Is my truth the only truth?
Is my perception the reality?
Who am I to sit on judgement,
over someone elses' truth?

Why this need to write
Why this need to write now?
Why has it surfaced ?
Why has it surfaced ?
Last i wrote was ages ago.
Then life was full of expectations
There were dreams to be dreamt
But Now?
I have not learnt the how
But write I must
Words flow from deep within.
All dreams lie shattered
I stand alone and all around is barren
I ask myself
What do I want to write about now?
Of hopes I dare not hope again?
Of dreams of long ago?
With nothing to write about
Write I must
As this impulse will not go
I write of pain ,of sorrow, of hurt
I write of life,of unfullfilled hopes,
unrealised dreams,unanswered questions
And wonder why i write.

JK
Your actions and your deeds
are they the seeds
which determine your end?
The end came without a fore word
He went without a flutter
A nice way to go.
But what was left behind ?
Unfulfilled dreams of a father for a son
An aged mother
A widowed wife
A little daughter
Whose actions determined whose end?
So many Questions
So many answers
So many questions with no answers
Will the search end?
Is there an end?
Again questions with no answers!
When you think the search has come to an end
You find, the answer brings with it
The next set of questions
And the search is on!

GIFT
THE GIFT OF LISTENING: But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.
THE GIFT OF AFFECTION: Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.
THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER :Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you".
THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE: It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.
THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT; A simple and sincere, "You look great in red", "You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.
THE GIFT OF A FAVOR: Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.
THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE: There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.
THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION: The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You.

LAW OF SEED
Take a look at the apple tree .There might be five hundred apples on the tree,
each with ten seeds. That’s a lot of seeds!
We might ask “ why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more trees?”
Nature has something to teach us. It’s telling us : Most seeds never grow.
So if you really want to make something happen, you better try more than once.”
This might mean:
You’ll attend 20 interviews to get one job
You’ll interview forty people to find one good employee
You’ll talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, idea..
You might meet a hundred acquaintances to find one friend
When we understand the Law of the seed, we don’t get so disappointed
We stop feeling like victims. Laws of nature are not things to take personally.
We just need to understand them – and work with them.
